WRITING
The Good: I am finished editing to a standard that I'm happy with! Now I'm back to the drawing board for my other 5 series that I plan to write some day.
The Bad: I am sick to death of my own MS and don't want to see it again for a long long time.
The Favor:  I know everyone is super busy gearing up for exams and vacations and summer in the northern hemisphere, but if anyone has time and would like to critique my MS, please feel free to email me at lc.novel@gmail.com. If you want to read a synopsis of my MS it can be located HERE. The excerpt on this page is a bit outdated and is no longer a part of the story but it's a good indication of my writing style regardless.

TV
Once Upon A Time finally started showing in Australia and it looks okay so far even if the special effects are a bit lame. Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie are done for the year. Sad face. But that means more time for reviewing the books I've been reading.

LIFE AS I KNOW IT
Not much going on in these parts. Two days of straight rain over the weekend meant I was cooped up inside the whole time. I keep meaning to bake something but mostly end up on the couch watching re-runs of Friends and Scrubs.

Over and out for another week.

  1. Gosh your books sounds TOTALLY mind-blowing, Lan! <3 I really can't wait to see it on bookstore. Unfortunately, I'm in exams week and I don't have time to read it right now. :/ But once I'm in my summer break, I sure would have plenty of time to read it!

I read Butterface last year. Such a good, sad story. Ah, my sister is addicted to Gossip Girl too! <3 And I adore you for watching re-runs of Friends! When I don't feel like doing anything, I tend to curl up on the couch ans watch my DVD collection of Friends. :P

Have a wonderful week ahead, Lan! :)

    1. That's okay Hilda. Exams come first! Maybe when it's all done and dusted, you can review my book for me.

I love Friends! I still find the series hilarious even though I've seen it so many times and can recite all the jokes.

  2. LAN, I WOULD LOVE TO READ YOUR BOOK! <3 Oh my gosh, I can't even tell you how much I'm in the middle of summatives right now and exams are coming up faster than I can study for them, but as soon as I'm finished (which should be at the end of June), you can expect an email from me for sure! :) I'm so happy that you're finally at that stage although kind of scared at the same time LOL because I don't want to grow tired of my story too. But after re-reading it a million times over, it's bound to happen x) You'll probably cheer right back up though when you have your first finished copy in your hands! ;)

I hope the skies clear up for you where you live, Lan! We've been having nothing but humid hot weather here and I would happy to hand some of that over to you :') (Thank goodness our school has AC!) <3

    1. I'm excited and scared all at once. I'm just at that stage where I need someone else to look at it and say "hey, it's not so bad" or I'll end up going insane.

You're lucky! My school never had AC!! It's not so bad, just that it rains on all the weekends and is sunny all week while I'm cooped up at work.

  3. *jumps up and down waving arms frantically* Ooh! Me! I want to read it! I'll email you in a minute. :) It would be good for you to take a step away from it, like 2 or 3 weeks. Spend time on writing reviews instead. Once you get back to it (after others have taken a look at it), you will be glad to read it again.

    1. LOL. Will emails you soon. I just hate that the time zone makes it so hard to communicate with you guys. I tried to send the email at work this morning but it froze. I'm a bit worried about seeing all the red on the page when I get it back from people but it's a learning process!

  4. Once Upon a Time... I am obsessed with that show. The finale just showed here, so I won't give anything away. Yes, the effects are a little cheesy at times, but they get better as the show goes along. Some of them are fantastic. Also, the plotlines are sometimes cheesy, but I love them! :D I like a little cheese with my fairytales.

Also, how soon are you looking for critiques to be done? I think I would be willing to do this but don't wanna say yes and then not get it back to you in a timely fashion. I'll shoot you an email. :)

    1. I can't believe how similar Ginnfer Goodwin and Cameron from House (I don't know her real name!) look. Almost like twins.

No worries about time frames. Staggered feedback is probably better in case I get overwhelmed by all the editing.

  5. Yeah, as much as we originally love our MS it becomes so tiresome after reading and editing eight thousand times! Im glad to see you're reading Once Was Lost. I hope you like it. Happy reading!

    1. I did enjoy Once Was Lost. On your recommendation! Some parts were a bit frustrating but I stayed up late reading it.

  6. Yeah, that's how it goes, right? You edit so much that you just never want to see your stupid MS ever again! I know the feeling, and I'll be reacquainted with it soon. I'm excited to be a pair of fresh eyes for ya!

So, are you going to finish writing Iron Willed, or just take a long break?

    1. I think my biggest mistake is that I kept reading over ever page whilst I was writing it so in the end I'd probably read the thing 100 times. Hopefully a few weeks away will give me some time to think ahead.

No breaks for me. I tend to go through cycles in my writing and I should get as much done as I can before I get into another slump.

  7. Sending you an email now! I would love to read it and tell you what I think, and this time, I wont correct the things that are still right for you. Like the spelling stuff that's correct for you and for me. (I never knew that people who speak english could all spell things differently in different countries and they all are tight until I started blogging. I just always thought a lot of people didnt know how to spell. Ha!)

    1. As I said, I don't mind at all if you point out all the differences because I'll need it later on anyway!

  8. Hey Lan!
When I read "The Bad" and saw that sick to death..., I thought you were really sick lol. So glad that's not the case :) I'm trying to edit my 2nd book right now, and it's going...okay? I know what I want to do, but I'm having trouble knowing exactly WHERE I want to do it. If that makes sense :/ Anyway, I've decided to just read it through all the way, without making any (many) changes. Then maybe I'll have a clearer view of where to places the new sections I'd like to add. Hope you have a great week!!

    1. That sounds like a great technique. I spend so much time of the tiny details that I tend to forget to look at the whole picture. Reading through the whole thing again would make a lot of sense.
